Reforestation Volunteer Project

Description

In partnership with the Sussex County Municipal Utilities Authority, the Wallkill River Watershed Management Group, and the SCAR Community Outreach Committee. During our floodplain reforestation projects, tree tubes and stakes are installed around every tree to protect them against damage by the deer and voles. Now that the trees have been growing for 10 years at the Decker Road reforestation site, they are large enough to survive on their own. We need your help to remove all of the tree tubes and stakes! Park along the farm field on Decker Road in Lafayette. GPS address: (41.111154, -74.716577) Please wear work boots/rubber rain boots if you have them and bring sunscreen and water to drink. Work gloves and tools will be provided.
